In Profile... Lewis Naylor of Dronfield Town

Name: Lewis Naylor

Position: Goalkeeper (previously Striker)

Current Club: Dronfield Town

Previous clubs: Dronfield Town, Hallam FC, Clipstone FC, Staveley Miners Welfare FC.

Team supported growing up? Everton FC

Childhood hero? Neville Southall and Kevin Pressman, last of a few quality “weighty” GK’s

Biggest influence? Growing up, my Grandad, hero of a man, absolute rock of the family.

Favourite current player? Declan Rice, quality player but seems a normal decent lad, living his dream.

Best ground you’ve played at? Apart from a few charity games, I’d have to say South Shields away in the FA Vase, great crowd.

Best friend in football? Cal Mawbey. Top lad and deep pockets in the bar after 🍺

Best player you’ve played against & why? Julio Arca for South Shields or Dean Windass for Scarborough.

Footballing Night out You & 4 others. Who’s getting an invite? Gazza, Paul Merson, Tony Adams & Ray Parlour

Your All time 5 a side team of players you have played with?

1 Keeper: - Nick Siddons – NS1, Safe hands

1 Defender: - Dwayne Wiley – Big Human

2 Midfielders: - Ash Rawson – Runs

Matty Ord - Skills

1 Striker – Kieron Watson – Goals

Best moment of your career? Central Midlands title win with Dronfield as a striker, just a bunch of mates playing together every week, some memories. South Shields in the FA Vase the year they won it, with Staveley, was a great day out too.

Go to initiation song? 50 Cent – Candy Shop.

Pre match meal? Usually have to settle for a meal deal from Morrisons as I’ve been working in the morning or watching my daughter play.

Messi or Ronaldo? Ronaldo.

Thank you Lewis for taking time to answer the questions above and best of luck for the rest of your season.
